The Idea -
Online Videos working as Interactive Virtual Advertising
Imagine watching a music video on the internet and deciding that you had to have the shirt worn by your favourite star. With the help of Google & Co you could surf from website to website, desperately trying to find that exact shirt. Alternatively you could simply click on the shirt itself, leading you directly to the shop that sells it. Another two clicks and the shirt is yours. Can such a thing exist? We say yes it can!
We, at the innovative Hamburg-based company CAVI, have brought this groundbreaking Video Shopping-technology to life. The CAVI technology marks a revolution in online shopping, by integrating interactive virtual advertising spots into streamed videos in a completely unique and pioneering way. On top of that, you can continue to watch the video whilst shopping without having to leave the portal at all. The customer is not restricted in what he can buy. Not only can the customer acquire new items of clothing, but also commodities such as cosmetics, CDs, MP3s and sports equipment. In addition the customer can update his insurance, book a holiday or even arrange a test drive. The latest fashion, music or lifestyle bargains are not only easily accessible but also, thanks to a direct payment system within the video, completely secure.
It was the founder of CAVI, Dominik Reisig, who came up with this brilliant idea whilst reading an interesting article about “Motion Tracking”. It instantly struck him that videos should also be regarded as a means of selling products. Together with the development genius Michael Bösken, Reisig developed a universally applicable software module which optimally caters for the huge demand for online shopping. There are practically no online video portals that don’t benefit from the CAVI idea, since it contains so many intelligent solutions. In order to guarantee the quality of the shopping experience for customers, we are constantly developing new ideas. An example being an intelligent video-tagging-system which changes the products on show depending on what video clip is playing.
